TIP TUESDAY

Hello everyone!!! Since today is 'Tip Tuesday' I would like to share with you why creative writing is enjoyable for children.

Creative writing is enjoyable for children because it lets them use their imagination to create stories that are their own. When children write freely, they can express their thoughts, feelings, and dreams in fun and exciting ways. According to Tompkins (2008), creative writing helps students explore possibilities and invent worlds that reflect their ideas and emotions. It’s not just about writing it’s about discovering their voice.

Children also love creative writing because it gives them a sense of freedom. They can be heroes, explorers, or even talking animals! As Graham and Perin (2007) explain, when students write creatively, they feel more motivated and confident in their learning. It becomes a joyful experience that builds both imagination and skill.

Also, creative writing brings happiness to the classroom. It encourages laughter, teamwork, and sharing stories with friends. When students read their work aloud, they feel proud of what they’ve created. This joy of expression makes learning meaningful and memorable.

Below is a tree that represents writing.

Each brand shows what creative writing helps children to do.
