Persuasive Writing
Hi everyone! Teacher Charlyn here, and this week on Growing Writers we explored the exciting world of persuasive writing. Persuasive writing teaches students how to share their opinions clearly and convince others to agree with their ideas. It’s all about using strong reasons, polite language, and clear arguments to make a powerful point. Below is my persuasive piece that I wrote.
Mango Valley Primary School,
Crescent Village
Wednesday 23RD October 2025
Dear Principal Clincher,
I am writing to ask if we could
plant a mango tree on our school grounds. I believe a mango tree would make our
school a better, greener, and more enjoyable place for everyone.
Firstly, a mango tree would give us
cool shade during hot days. Students could sit under it to read, eat lunch, or
relax during break time. The tree would also teach us about nature and how
plants grow. We could observe its life cycle in science class, from seed to
fruit, and learn about the insects and birds that visit it.
Secondly, a mango tree would benefit
everyone. When it produces fruit, we could share the mangoes or use them for
school projects, like making juice or jam. It would also make our school look
more beautiful and show that we care about the environment. Planting a mango
tree would help us breathe cleaner air and remind us how important trees are to
live on our island.
I truly hope you will consider my
request. A mango tree would not only make our school prettier but also teach us
about caring for nature. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.
Yours Warmly.
Maya Naise
