My Poetry Piece " Mango Sweet, Mango Bright"
Hi everyone! I’m Teacher Charlyn, we spent time learning all about poetry, especially how poets use repetition and imagery to make their writing musical and full of life. After exploring different examples in class, I decided to try writing my own poem to model what we learned.
Today, I’m excited to share my poem “Mango Sweet, Mango Bright.” It’s a simple, joyful piece that shows how repetition and descriptive words can paint a picture of something we see every day, our beloved Caribbean mango. Enjoy!
Poetry
Grade 5
Mango sweet, mango
bright,
Hanging
high in the sunlight,
Golden
fruit that feels just right.
Mango sweet, mango
bright,
Juice
that drips with pure delight,
A
taste that makes the world feel light.
Mango sweet, mango
bright,
Dancing
leaves in morning light,
A
gift of summer, warm and bright.
Mango sweet, mango
bright,
Shining
softly in the night,
A
treasure glowing in moonlight.
Mango sweet, mango
bright,
Friends
and children take a bite,
Nature’s
treasure shining bright.

Very fun! It is nice to see such a wonderful piece!
