Becoming More Me: A Reflection on LIT102
Hey everyone, welcome back to my little corner of the internet.
Today’s post is a special one because…it’s reflection time!LIT102 has truly been a meaningful journey for me. Just like in my writing piece “Rooted in Curly Beauty,” where I expressed how my hair reflects my style, culture, and identity, this course helped me discover how my writing also reflects who I am. Throughout the semester, I learned new skills, grew in confidence, and found my voice as a writer. Finishing this course makes me feel proud of the progress I have made and grateful for every challenge that pushed me to improve.
At the beginning of LIT102, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but now I can confidently say that I am walking away stronger. This class helped me identify strengths I didn’t even know I had. I learned that I can write with emotion and purpose, communicate my identity clearly, and structure my ideas in a way that flows. As I completed each assignment, I slowly began to see how much potential I had, and that gave me a new level of confidence in my writing abilities.
There are many achievements from this course that I am proud of. I completed my writing portfolio, improved my vocabulary and grammar, and learned how to plan, draft, revise, and polish my work. More importantly, I created pieces of writing that truly represent who I am. These achievements show how far I’ve come and how much effort I put into becoming a better writer. This growth is something I will take with me into other classes and future writing tasks.
LIT102 also gave me new knowledge that will support me throughout my academic journey. I learned how to express myself clearly, add detail and description, and revise my drafts to improve their quality. I also discovered how writing can be used to reflect identity, culture, and personal experiences. These skills are not just useful for this course they are tools I will use in every area of my life where communication matters.
As I close this chapter, I am ending with a bang. I feel stronger, inspired, and full of gratitude. To match the way I feel, I am celebrating with a quote, a song, and a scripture. Maya Angelou once said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” This course helped me bring my story to life. The song that represents my mood is “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys, because I truly feel empowered and confident. And the scripture that carried me through is, “God is within her, she will not fail” (Psalm 46:5). These words perfectly match my journey.
Thank you, LIT102, for helping me grow. I’m ready for the next chapter.
